Minnesota Wild defenseman Alex Goligoski has announced he will retire this offseason following a 17 year NHL career at the age of 39. A Grand Rapids Minnesota native, Goligoski played college hockey at the University of Minnesota before being selected 61st overall int eh 2004 NHL draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He won a Stanley Cup Championship with the Penguins in 2009. Along with the Penguins Goligoski played for the Dallas Stars, Arizona Coyotes and closed out his career with his hometown Minnesota Wild.
