The Minnesota Wild have announced the team has fired head coach Dean Evason and assistant coach Bob Woods. The team made the announcement Monday afternoon. The move comes as the team is on a seven game losing streak and has not won in regulation since back on November 7th. Evason has coached the Wild for three full seasons, being named interim coach, replacing the fired Bruce Budreau back in 2020. Since then his teams have finished as high as 2nd in the central division, but all three years saw their playoff runs end with first round losses. The team also announced it has hired John Hynes to serve as the next head coach. Hynes is an eight year NHL head coaching veterans with stints in charge of the Nashville Predators and New Jersey Devils.
