Wild make two trade deadline moves

The Minnesota Wild have traded for left wing Gustav Nyquist from the Columbus Blue Jackets. In exchange for Nyquist, Minnesota has sent a fifth round pick to the Blue Jackets. The pick originally belonged to the Boston Bruins. Nyquist is 33 years old and has recorded 22 points in 48 games with the Blue Jackets this season.

The Minnesota Wild have also acquired left winger Marcus Johansson from the Washington Capitals. The Wild sent a 2024 third round selection to Washington in exchange for Johansson. Johansson is 32-years-old and has 28 points including 13 power play goals in 60 games with the Capitals this season.
