Yankton police identify murder victim from last week

Police in Yankton have identified a murder victim, who’s body was found in a Yankton apartment last Thursday afternoon. According to authorities 41-year-old Heather Ann Bodden’s body was found decapitated by her friends after they received a message from Bodden claiming her boyfriend threatened to kill her. Officers have arrested 32-year-old Craig Nichols as a suspect in this case. Before his arrest, Nichols’ barricaded himself inside his apartment. Police eventually were able to take him into custody. He faces second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and two counts of contempt of court charges.
