19 Democrats running for seats in the South Dakota state legislature have signed onto a pledge to seek a one-year moratorium on new data centers if voters send them to Pierre in November. House minority leader Erin Healy of Sioux Falls offered a moratorium bill last session, but it was rejected along party lines in the House State Affairs Committee.
The following Democrat lawmakers signed the pledge: Amanda Potter of Sioux Falls, Ali Rae Horsted of Sioux Falls, Sonia Mentzer of Sioux Falls, Erin Ronayne Rudner of Aberdeen, Tim Rhead of Canton, Erinn Williams of Sioux Falls, Leslie Gerrish of Vermillion, Austin Brunick of Elk Point, Karen Springer of Yankton, Austin Wolf of Sioux Falls, Emelia Enquist of Revillo, Heidi Hora of Hurley, Morgan Plucker of Spearfish, Kathleen Brudvig of Sioux Falls and Lewis GrassRope of Lower Brule.
