Aberdeen man has bond set at $1 million in alleged domestic assault, kidnapping case

An Aberdeen man has had his bond set at $1 million on charges of alleged domestic aggravated assault and kidnapping. 32-year-old Steven E.J. Groth had his bond set during a hearing at the Brown County courthouse January 29th. Groth faces multiple charges stemming from a November 18th incident which resulted in a 32-year-old female victims suffering what police described as brutal injuries. He is accused of hiding in the victim’s home before attacking her, slamming her head into the concrete floor, punching her, tying her up and fleeing the scene before law enforcement arrived. He was ultimately tracked down and taken into custody in North Platte Nebraska on November 19
th of last year. Groth had pleaded not guilty to the charges in this case and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
