Aberdeen resident Katie Woshnok has announced her candidacy to represent South Dakota’s third district in the state legislature. Washnok is an Aberdeen native and former chair of the Brown county GOP. She will seek the Republican nomination should there be a primary. Woshnok ran last primary session for this seat, but was defeated in the GOP primary by incumbent Carl Perry. In a release about her candidacy Washnok say she is a proven community leader, who would bring a new voice, fresh perspective and tangible results to the Aberdeen area. District three encompasses almost all of the city of Aberdeen.
