Aberdeen Roncalli head football coach Billy Young has announced his resignation from the program. Young made the announcement Monday, ending what has been a 27 year football coaching career, including 10 years with the Cavaliers. Young finished with an overall record of 50-42 and several class 11B playoff appearances.
“After 27 years, I’ve given this game everything I had, and I know it’s time. That journey took me from Kilgore College to Grapeland High School, Northern State University, Valley Mills High School, Dublin High School, Anderson-Shiro High School, and finally Roncalli High School.” Young posted to social media regarding his resignation. “At every stop, I have been blessed to coach great athletes and work alongside great assistant coaches.”
A search will begin to find his replacement.
