The Aberdeen Police Department has released further information about a police presence Sunday in the 1100 block of South Roosevelt Street. During the investigation, officers asked the public to stay away and those in the area to shelter in place. According to police, officers were attempting to conduct a welfare check on an individual with a weapon. Officers set up a perimeter and attempted to observe and communicate with the suspect fo hours before the victim took their own life with a self inflicted gunshot wound. The identity of person killed was not released.
