The South Dakota House of Representatives passed HB1082 yesterday, sending the bill to the senate for further consideration. HB1082 was proposed by Democrat Representative Kadyn wWttman of Sioux Falls and would reimburse families for school lunches who are already on the free and reduced lunch program.

It is estimated this bill would cost the state approximately $592,517 annually, paid out of the state’s general fund. The bill passed 46-20.
