A body found near Hill City in early March has been identified by authorities as that of a missing woman. The body was discovered south of Hill City along the Pennington/Custer county line on March 4th. The remains were badly decomposing. According to the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office the remains are that of 21-year-old Sahela Sangrait of Box Elder. She was first reported missing back on August 10th 2024. Her death is being investigated as a homicide. Also investigating this incident includes the Rapid City Police Department and the Bureau of Indian Affairs Missing and Murdered Unit.
