Castlewood woman faces multiple felony and misdemeanor drug charges

(Northeast Radio News – Watertown, SD) A 41-year-old Castlewood woman faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after an investigation into illegal drug activity on the 100 block of West Main Street in Castlewood led to the discovery of Methamphetamine.

The incident began on Friday, October 10, 2025, when the Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with federal and state law enforcement agencies, including the Lake Norden Police Department K9 Unit, to conduct a check of a facility at the designated location starting at 9:11 a.m.

Following the initial discovery of Methamphetamine at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office continued to investigate the matter throughout the weekend and sought to locate an individual involved.

On Monday evening, the 41-year-old woman turned herself in to the Codington County Detention Center. She has been charged with:

  • Class Five Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Class Four Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone
  • Class Five Felony Maintaining a Place Where Drugs are Kept
  • Class One Misdemeanor Obstructing Law Enforcement
