District 1 Rep. Chris Reder to assume position after possibly choosing not to serve

The Aberdeen Insider reports District 1 State Representative Chris Reder will take his seat in Pierre this coming legislative session. Reder is a Warner resident and Navy veteran who won his first term in Pierre this last November. After the election however, texts circulated from Reder to fellow lawmakers he planned on not serving his term citing a difficult year he was having and health problems. District 1 encompasses much of the northeaster corner of South Dakota, all of Day, Marshall, and Roberts county, along with a small portion of rural Brown county.
