Dr. Erin Fouberg named new provost and vice president of academic affairs at Northern

Dr. Erin Fouberg has been named the new provost and vice president of academic affairs at Northern State University. She will begin her new duties Monday May 11^th. Fouberg has been serving as interim provost since December of 2025 when she replaced the retiring Mike Waunous. She has been at Northern since 2007 and been the director of the honors program for a decade. Fouberg earned her doctoral and master’s degrees in geography from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her bachelor’s degree in foreign service from Georgetown University.
