Former President Biden to visit Sioux Falls Friday

Former president Joe Biden will be in South Dakota today speaking at the state Democrat party’s annual McGovern Day Dinner. The 46^th president will be speaking in front of a sold out crowed at the Best Western Plus Ramkota Exhibit Hall in Sioux Falls. State Democrat Party chair Shane Merrill called the former president’s visit a privilege and spoke about how Biden himself worked alongside legendary South Dakota Democrat figures including George McGovern himself, Tim Johnson and Aberdeen native Tom Daschle. Biden last visited South Dakota to attend George McGovern’s funeral in 2012 while serving as Vice President under President Barack Obama. The last president to visit South Dakota was President Donald Trump in 2023 when he visited Rapid City to attend a GOP rally.
