South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden has signed onto a letter with 24 other Governor’s across the nation urging leaders in the United States senate to avoid a government shutdown. The letter was addressed to South Dakota US Senator and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, senate majority whip John Barrasso and Senate minority whip Dick Durbin. The letter calls on the senate to pass a clean, short term funding extension to prevent a government shutdown. The letter was not bipartisan as it was signed only by Republican governors.
