A group of Aberdeen city employees voted to unionize following a union vote that took place Monday and Tuesday of this week. The final tally was 79 votes in favor of unionizing and 29 against. Approximately 125 city employees were eligible to vote in this election. These city employees will unionize under the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 65 and will begin collective barganing with the city in the near future.
