A Huron middle school employee has been arrested on child pornography charges. According to court documents Richard Hotchkiss was taken into custody after child pornography was found on his phone. In a statement from the Huron School District Superintendent Dr. Kraig Steinhoff, he says the investigation is ongoing, but they do not believe any of the victims in the illicit material were students in Huron. Hotchkiss has resigned pending board approval. Law enforcement received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited children regarding the situation on February 1st. A search warrant revealed over 30 images depicting child pornography from text exchanges on cell phones in 2016.
