(Brookings Radio – Brookings, SD) A 28-year old Milbank, SD man is injured in a single-vehicle rollover on I-29 near White, SD.
The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office reports it happened yesterday (Thurs., Jan 1) shortly after 8 p.m. near mile marker 144 on I-29.
The sheriff’s preliminary investigation indicates the man was driving a southbound pickup that struck a guardrail, entered the median, rolled and came to rest on its passenger side.
Deputies found the man still-alert inside the vehicle. The Brookings Fire Department extricated the man from the pickup, and he was taken by Brookings Ambulance to Brookings Hospital. The sheriff’s office says due to the serious nature of the man’s injuries, he was later transported to a Sioux Falls hospital. The sheriff’s department says the man’s current condition is not known.
The sheriff’s office says the vehicle sustained disabling damage, and damage to the interstate’s guardrail is estimated at $57 thousand.
The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, Brookings Fire Department, and Brookings Ambulance all responded.
