The community of Mina Lake will hold its annual “Freedom Fest” this Friday and Saturday celebrating the 4th of July and America’s 250th anniversary.
Leona Pitz with Mina Lake Celebrations says this event is what they are known for and what they fundraise for each year…
Friday will feature a 5K/2 mile/kid fun run. Registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. with the run beginning at 8:00 a.m.
From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. will be the family fun zone featuring a fishing clinic for children ages 8-12, Game Fish and Park’s “First Catch”, the fun zone featuring games, face paintings, prizes and more and also a family picnic free lunch.
Then at approximately 10:00 p.m. will feature the fireworks extravaganza.
There will be extra viewing set up to accommodate what is expected to be a larger crowed for the 250th anniversary. Ptiz explained…
