The Minnesota Vikings are trading back-up quarterback JJ McCarthy to the New York Giants in exchange for a 2027 fifth round pick.
The Vikings selected McCarthy with the #10 overall pick in 2024, trading up to get him. However, from the beginning his time in Minnesota was rough, suffering a knee injury in his first pre-season game that held him out his entire rookie season.
Overall he has a career completion percentage of 57.6 percent, 1,632 yards, 11TDs 12INTs in only 11 games played in Minnesota.
The Giants acquired McCarthy following the season ending injury to their own starting quarterback Jackson Dart.
