Northern State University President Neal Schnoor has been selected as the next chancellor at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. The South Dakota Board of Regents acknowledged Schnoor’s resignation on Friday May 23rd and announced Laurie Nichols will serve as interim president at Northern State. Nichols has once already served as an interim president at Northern State. In a statement the regents announced a search to find Northern’s next president will begin this fall. Schnoor was hired as NSU’s president in 2021. He had served as a faculty member at Nebraska-Kearney before coming to Northern and is a Pierce Nebraska native.
