Neal Schnoor named the next chancellor at Nebraska-Kearney

Northern State University President Neal Schnoor has been selected as the next chancellor at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. The South Dakota Board of Regents acknowledged Schnoor’s resignation on Friday May 23^rd and announced Laurie Nichols will serve as interim president at Northern State. Nichols has once already served as an interim president at Northern State. In a statement the regents announced a search to find Northern’s next president will begin this fall. Schnoor was hired as NSU’s president in 2021. He had served as a faculty member at Nebraska-Kearney before coming to Northern and is a Pierce Nebraska native.
