The North Second Street McDonalds is set to be demolished and rebuilt according to owner Mike Salem. Salem told the Aberdeen Insider, Sunday April 19th will be the last day of business until approximately mid-August when the new restaurant is built. Demolition is scheduled to begin Monday April 27th. According to Salem, a new kitchen layout is needed and modernization updates are required making a rebuild more sensible than remodeling. A building permit filed with the City of Aberdeen estimates the cost of the demolishing and rebuild to be approximately $2.2 million.
