As of Today, Friday August 1st, Speed limits on North Dakota interstates increase to 80 miles an hour. North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong signed legislation in to law in may raising the speed limit on the state’s interstate highways from 75 to 80 miles per hour. The North Dakota Department of Transportation notes however, speeds will be decreased to 70 miles per hour near major cities including Dicksinon, Grand Forks, Jamestown, Medora and Valley City. In total, eight states already have 80 mile per hour speed limits on interstates including South Dakota, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and Wyoming.
