Winners of the District 3 GOP primaries join us to talk about their election wins…

Primary Election takes place today Tuesday June 2nd. Polls open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Today is the 2026 midterms with polls open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Local time.

Local and statewide races include in District 3 a state senate GOP primary featuring incumbent Carl Perry vs. challenger Katie Washnok. District 3 House GOP primary featuring incumbent Al Novstrop, former state lawmaker Kaleb Weis, and first time candidates Spencer Sommers and Tim Hanigan. District 1 House GOP primary featuring incumbents Nick Fosness and Logan Manhart and challengers Daniel Kjos and Keith Miller. District 23 House GOP primary featuring incumbent Spencer Gosch and challengers Dick Wener and Amber Werdel.

There will be a Brown County Sheriff GOP primary featuring incumbent Dave Lunzman and challengers Rob Weinmeister, Dan Kaiser and Linn Kamin.

There will be a US House GOP primary featuring South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley vs. west river businessman James Biolata.

There will be a US Senate GOP primary featuring incumbent Mike Rounds vs. challenger Justin McNeal.

Finally a GOP gubernatorial primary featuring incumbent Larry Rhoden, US Representative Dusty Johnson, Speaker of the South Dakota State House Jon Hansen and Aberdeen businessman Toby Doeden.

Voting locations on today include The AmericInn Event Center, Best Western Ramkota, Claremont City Hall, Columbia Legion, The Brown County Courthouse, Frederick Community Center, Groton Community Center, Stratford Community Center, Warner Community Center and the Westport Town Hall.
