(Northern Plains News) South Dakota Public Broadcasting supporters say a proposed federal budget cut could cripple their services.
That’s according to reporting by Northern Plains News.
Rep. Dusty Johnson voted for a House subcommittee bill that would eliminate public media funding.
Friends of SDPB say that would hurt rural news, education, and emergency alerts.
Johnson’s spokesperson says it’s just the start of the budget process, and the congressman values SDPB’s work.
The bill now heads to the full Appropriations Committee.
