SD Highway Patrol and ICE obtain Memorandum of Agreement to assist in immigration enforcement efforts

South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden has announced the State Highway Patrol has obtained a Memorandum of Agreement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement otherwise known as Ice. With this agreement, South Dakota Highway Patrol Agents can now legally assist ice in its efforts to round up and deport immigrants here illegally. In a statement about the announcement, Governor Rhoden thanked the Trump administration for its quick turnaround in getting this agreement approved. Governor Rhoden announced last week his administration would seek to help ICE in its immigration enforcement efforts.
