SMSU head football coach Scott Underwood announces retirement effective immediately

Southwest Minnesota State head football coach Scott Underwood has announced he has stepped down as the head coach of the Mustang program effective immediately. Underwood made the announcement Sunday with the school naming defensive coordinator Levi Bullerman head coach on an interim basis. Underwood has been a head coach at the Division II level for 17 seasons including 12 seasons at St. Cloud State. He took over the SMSU program in 2022 and during his tenure went 7-41 overall and 6-38 in the NSIC.
