According to new data released by the US Department of Labor, South Dakota remains the state in the nation with the lowest unemployment rate. According to the numbers, South Dakota’s jobless rate in December of 2024 was at a national low of 1.9 percent. That figure has stayed consistent since roughly October of last year.
