State Senator Casey Crabtree of Madison suspends US House campaign, endorses opponent Marty Jackley

South Dakota state senator Casey Crabtree of Madison has announced he is suspending his campaign for the US House of Representatives. In a statement regarding the decision, Crabtree says recent dysfunction in the South Dakota state senate has made it clear to him, his focus should be on policy in South Dakota. Crabtree went on to endorse South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley for congress.

Jackley released the following statement on the endorsement:

“I thank Senator Casey Crabtree for his endorsement. Casey and I have been friends for nearly a decade, and that has never changed. Casey has shown leadership for both his district and the people of our State, and I look forward to continuing to work with him on issues important to us both to make South Dakota even stronger.”

Jackley is now running unopposed for the GOP nomination to for South Dakota’s lone seat in the US House of Representatives.
