The United State’s men’s hockey team defeated Canada yesterday morning local time to win the gold medal in men’s ice hockey. The final was 2-1 in overtime. Scoring for the United States was Matt Boldy in the first period and Jack Hughes with the game winner in overtime. It was the first gold medal in men’s ice hockey since the 1980 miracle on ice team. It was also the first time ever the United States won gold in both men and women’s ice hockey. The 2026 Winter Olympic games are in the books. The final medal count saw Norway the top country with 41 total medals including 18 gold. Teh United States came in second with 33 total medals include 12 gold.
