The Minnesota Vikings have made quarterback moves heading into the first week of the regular season. First the Vikings have traded backup quarterback Sam Howell and a 2027 sixth round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2026 fifth and 2027 seventh round pick. The Vikings have also announced the team has signed veteran journyman Carson Wentz to a deal to backup starter JJ McCarthy. Wentz is a Bismarck North Dakota native who played college football at North Dakota State. The former second overall pick spent last season backing up Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City. The Vikings will kick the season off Monday September 8th at Chicago. Kick off will be at 7:15 p.m.
