The Aberdeen Area Arts Council and several other local area non-profit organizations are participating Tuesday Dec 2nd in the South Dakota Day of Giving. The Day of Giving unites 501c3 organizations from across the state to celebrate generosity, asking the community of supporters to raise as much money as humanly possible starting at midnight and ending at 11:59pm that night. Every dollar raised by participating nonprofits goes directly to that nonprofit. Your nonprofit organizations have been participating in different tasks since October promoting and leading up to this day. Every task completed giving us a chance at prize money, but bigger helps us network with other nonprofits, get more visibility for our organization, and put ourselves out there. So check out all of the organizations in our area and state on the SD Day of Giving website southdakotagives.org and check out the Aberdeen Area Arts Council on our website aberdeenareaartscouncil.com or our facebook page/Aberdeen Area Arts Council. Your other Aberdeen Area nonprofits include Aberdeen Area Community Foundation, Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation, Inc., Aberdeen Area Humane Society, Aspire Foundation, Big Idea, Inc., Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen, Dacota Prairie Museum Foundation, Fallout Creative Community, Presentation Sisters, United Way of Northereastern SD, and the Aberdeen Family YMCA. There are a lot of folks in Aberdeen participating and this organization has been great to work with. Our main goals are always to raise awareness for the arts in the Aberdeen Area, increase our membership options, and of course take donations so we can continue to provide people of our community a source for arts and education. Donations may be monetary, volunteering, and even art supplies. So Give to your favortie SD or Aberdeen based nonprofit on this year’s Day of Giving, give what you can when you can and if you are in need, let us know how we can help.
