California man killed in two-vehicle accident in Codington county

A California man was fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash early this morning in Watertown, SD.

The names of the persons involved have not been released pending notification of family members.

Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling west on 20^th Avenue SE when the vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with an eastbound Peterbilt semi.

The driver of the Ram was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Peterbilt was not injured.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
