Aberdeen businessman Toby Doeden takes GOP gubernatorial lead in recently released Emerson College/Keloland poll

A new poll conducted by Keloland Media Group and Emerson College shows Aberdeen Businessman Toby Doeden overtaking Dusty Johnson in the lead for the GOP Gubernatorial nomination. According to the poll, Doeden tops the list with 28 percent support. Behind him is Johnson with 23 percent support. Coming in third was Governor Larry Rhoden with 19 percent followed by Speaker of the South Dakota House Jon Hansen at 15 percent. 23 percent were undecided. The poll spoke with 875 total voters, 452 Republicans, 211 Independents and 201 Democrats with 79 percent saying they are likely to vote. The margin of error was at 3.2 percent. This is an inverse of a poll conducted by the same group in March which saw Johnson at 28 percent support and Doeden at 18 percent. If one of the four candidates does not reach the required 35 percent of the vote on election day, June 2nd a runoff election will be held between the two top vote getters.
