The Aberdeen City Council approved a purchase agreement for approximately 19 acres of land which will serve as the home of a planned new City Public Works Building. The land purchased is in the Aberdeen Development Corp.’s new industrial park, 6.81 acres of which is new land and 12.05 acres of land which is a gift back previously owned by the city. The public works building is budgeted at $18 million, will stand approximately 86,000 square feet and replace 11 buildings currently sitting on 5.5 acres of land along Third Avenue Southwest near Lincoln Elementary School.
