The Aberdeen Development Corp. has announced Aberdeen has received a $3.5 million grant from the US Economic Development Administration or EDA. The money will go towards developing a new business park within the city. In a release about the grant, the Development Corp. calls the funding a step towards a broader effort to ensure the community has the sites, infrastructure and capacity needed to support future growth.
“This funding allows us to be proactive,” said Tim Hanigan, CEO of the Aberdeen Development Corporation. “While we value the employers who have helped build Aberdeen’s economy, we must continually position ourselves for the future. Preparing sites and infrastructure ensures we are ready to attract new businesses, support expansions, and create new opportunities for our workforce. We appreciate the strong partnership with the City of Aberdeen as we work together to move this project forward.”
The Development Corp. goes on to thank South Dakota’s federal delegation to Washington to help get this grant across the finish line. “This funding allows us to be proactive,” said Tim Hanigan, CEO of the Aberdeen
