The Aberdeen Police Department reports an arrest has been made following a welfare check performed Sunday March 9th. According to police, officers responded to assist in locating an individual for a welfare check around 4:00 p.m. The person was believed to be highly intoxicated while driving a vehicle. Officers located the suspect who initially stopped but fled police in the southbound land of north highway 281. The vehicle traveled in the wrong direction, narrowly missing other vehicles. Spike strips were deployed to stop the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and faces charges including DUI, wreckless driving, eluding and obstructing.
