A Beresford man has been sentenced to 33 years in prison on child pornography charges. According to the US Attorney for South Dakota 61-year-old Theodore John Jungbauer was sentenced Monday. According to court documents he was indicted by a federal grand jury in October of 2023 and plead guilty in November of 2024. The charges stem from Jungbauer receiving and distributing child pornography over the dark web from December 13 2021 to August 24 2023. His illegal online activity first caught the attention of Australian authorities who reported him to the Department of Homeland Security. His library included 3,695 files including images and videos of child sexual abuse. Along with the 33 year sentence he will also have supervision for the rest of his life and ordered to pay $33,000 in restitution.
