An Aberdeen teacher has been honored by the South Dakota Department of Education as the 2025 Special Education Staff of the Year. Eric Pedersen, the SPED Strives Teacher at the Aberdeen Public School District was honored for his quote “unwavering commitment to his students.” The announcement was made at an education conference in Rapid City this week. Pedersen was one of 70 special education staff in South Dakota who received nominations this year.
