Watertown man sentenced to 15 years in prison on aggravated assault charges

A Watertown man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison on assault charges. According to KWAT in Watertown 43-year-old Corey Ross was sentenced this week on aggravated assault charges. The charges stem from an incident on September 11th of last year when the victim identified as Ronnie Silas was found dead at Ross’ home. Prosecutors allege the two were drinking heavily the night of the murder. Ross got upset with Silas at one point and attacked. Silas dragged the victim by his ankles to another part of the home leaving him on his side. Silas would die due to positional asphyxia. He would lie there dead for 12 hours before being discovered.
