April 15th tax day in the United States

Today is tax day in the United States. Every year on April 15^th, income tax returns are due to be submitted to the federal government. Several states in the south including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina have received an automatic extension to May 1^st due to natural disasters in those states. If you are not ready to file your taxes today, you may apply for an extension with the IRS by visiting Irs.gov.
