A Brookings man is facing rape charges involving a minor. According to court documents 21-year-old Nathan Wayne Nelson allegedly picked up the victim from a church in March. However, the victim alleges Nelson drove past a restaurant the victim told him to stop at and took her to a wooded area. That is where he allegedly raped the 14-year-old girl. Nelson denies going to the church or the wooded area, but prosecutors allege his phone ping put him at both locations. He faces rape, aggravated assault ans solicitation of a minor charges and will stand trial in August.
