The South Dakota Department of Health reports the second confirm case of measles in South Dakota in 2025. The second case is also west river. According to the DOH, there was a potential measle exposure event at two locations in Pennington County Friday at approximately 4:48 p.m. These locations included the Sam’s Club at 925 Eglin Street in Rapid City on June 1st from noon to 6:00 p.m. And the Dakota Premier Medical Center on June 2nd at 11:15 a.m. To 3:45 p.m. The first measles case was reported on June 2nd. Health experts again advise residents to get the MMR vaccine to protect themselves and others from the illness.
