The Sioux Falls mayoral recount is complete and as of Thursday afternoon Christine Erickson will be sworn in as mayor of the state’s largest city July 17. The race was razor thin with, upon recounting Erickson receiving 18,281 votes to her challenger Jamie Smith who received 18,277. Should everything continue as planned Erickson will be sworn in as mayor on July 17th if there are no legal interventions before that time. Erickson will be the first female mayor of Sioux Falls.
