South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden has announced a $1 million grant in state money will be given to Mitchell to help support an industrial and business park within the city. The money will come from the state’s Future Fund which is built up through fees collected by employers when they pay taxes to support unemployment benefits. The $1 million from the state comes as Mitchell has also collected a $1 million loan from the US Department of Ag and $1 million in local funding.
