State to receive $1 million in settlement money from a generic drug manufacturer

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley has announced the state is set to receive nearly $1 million in settlement money from generic drug manufacturer Sandoz. The money is part of a multistate settlement over allegations the company worked with other drug makers to illegally raise prescription medication prices. Jackley’s office says $157,474 of money will go to South Dakota’s medicaid program with the remaining funds being deposited into a state antitrust special revenue fund.
