DCI investigating another inmate death in the state penitentiary

South Daktoa Attorney General Marty Jackley has announced the Department of Criminal Investigation will be looking into a recent death within the Jameson Annex of the South Daktoa State Prison in Sioux Falls. 37-year-old Larry Franklin passed away Thursday November 27^th. At the time of his death he was serving a sentence for aggravated assault and simple assault on law enforcement out of Minnehaha county. An autopsy has been performed on Franklin and the state is now awaiting the results. This is the eight suspected drug voerdose death within the prison since February of this year. Jackley says charges will be brought if they are warranted in this case.
