A Democrat has announced plans to run for South Dakota’s US Senate seat currently held by Republican Mike Rounds. Sioux Falls resident Julian Beaudion has announced his candidacy. Rounds’ term ends in January of 2027 and he has not yet said whether or not he will seek another term. Beaudion currently runs the HUB SD which describes itself as providing podcasting, digital radio and blog platforms. Before that he was a member of the South Dakota Highway Patrol for 13 years. He unsuccessfully ran for a seat on the Sioux Falls City Council in 2020.
