A portion of 135th street and South Dakota Street needed to be closed Wednesday due to a grass fire that spread quickly due to windy conditions. According to authorities, the fire started during maintenance of the Aberdeen Police Department gun range ground. That fire spread due to dry windy conditions and multiple fire departments responded to the scene to contain the fire. The fire was reported at approximately 2:30 p.m. The fire has since been contained and the streets reopened.
